A concrete floor is only as good as its flatness, joint integrity, and surface durability — and in a warehouse or distribution facility, those factors directly affect forklift operation, racking installation, and long-term maintenance costs. Vertex Structures uses laser screed technology to place and strike off concrete slabs on grade to verified floor flatness specifications. On warehouse and distribution projects, we routinely achieve FF50/FL30 or higher, measured by a floor profiler within 72 hours of placement per ASTM E1155. Our flatwork scope covers the full slab-on-grade process: subgrade verification, vapor barrier installation, rebar or fiber reinforcement placement, concrete placement and laser-screed finishing, control joint sawing on a timed schedule, and curing compound application. For South Florida's climate, curing is critical — we apply membrane-forming compounds or wet-cure methods immediately after finishing to prevent moisture loss and surface cracking in high heat. Typical mixes run 4,000–5,000 PSI with mix designs adjusted for ambient temperature and required set times.
